How They Differ

CT uses X-rays to produce fast, detailed images of bone and dense tissue, making it ideal for trauma and emergency work. MRI uses magnetic fields to image soft tissue with exceptional contrast, excelling at neurological, spinal, and musculoskeletal cases.

Site & Installation Considerations

MRI installations require careful magnetic and RF shielding, a chiller for the magnet, and controlled access zones. CT rooms need lead shielding but are generally simpler to prepare.
